Description
Apponyi Pattern
The origin of the pattern is attributed to Count Albert Apponyi, the famous Hungarian aristocrat and politician, who was the first to commission a simplified version of the Fleurs des Indes (basket of Indian flowers) pattern in the 1930s. The understated Apponyi pattern began to take on a life of its own and became one of the most popular decorative elements in the Manufactory’s pattern collection. Today, the Apponyi pattern is painted in various colors or in a combination of colors. In the turquoise-platinum variant, gold is replaced by platinum, giving the porcelain pieces a special metallic sheen.
