Description
Apponyi Pattern
The origin of the pattern is attributed to Count Albert Apponyi, the famous Hungarian aristocrat and politician, who was the first to commission a simplified version of the “Fleurs des Indes” (basket of Indian flowers) pattern in the 1930s. The understated Apponyi pattern began to take on a life of its own and became one of the most popular decorative elements in the Manufactory’s pattern collection. Today, the Apponyi pattern is painted in various colors or color combinations. In the turquoise-platinum version, gold is replaced by platinum, giving the porcelain pieces a distinctive metallic sheen.
