Monofiore Balloton Vase, 24.5 cm – Acquamare with Red Thread – Venini

Description

Venini Monofiore Balloton Vase – Optical Illusion Becomes Art (H 24.5 cm)

The Balloton vase by Venini is one of the most iconic and beloved masterpieces from the Murano glassworks. Characterized by its unmistakable embossed pattern, this design piece is the result of a complex manufacturing technique that plays with the refraction of light and the geometry of forms.

The Magic of the “Balloton” Technique

The unique charm of this vase stems from the ancient artisanal technique known as “Balloton”: molten glass is blown inside a metal mold with pyramid-shaped prongs. This process creates an embossed crisscross pattern that resembles a quilted mesh inside the glass, giving the object extraordinary visual depth and a dynamic appearance that changes constantly as the light shifts.

A Unique Stylistic Detail: Appliqué

The refined aesthetic of the Monofiore Balloton is complemented by the distinctive colored thread heat-sealed to the rim of the vase. This contrasting detail highlights the craftsmanship of Venini’s master glassmakers and makes each piece a jewel of elegance and precision.
