Designed by Napoleone Martinuzzi in 1930, Deco is one of the most iconic creations in Venini’s design heritage and an authentic expression of the Art Deco style of the era. Its shape is defined by a rhythmic sequence of concentric rings that expand and contract, creating a visual effect of continuous movement, similar to ripples spreading across water.
Crafted from Murano blown glass using artisanal techniques passed down by Venini since 1921, each Deco vase is the result of exceptional handcrafted workmanship. The subtle variations that distinguish each piece attest to its artisanal nature, making every piece an authentic expression of Venini’s glassmaking mastery.

Designer

A sculptor, designer, and entrepreneur in the glass industry, Napoleone Martinuzzi trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.
A favorite of D’Annunzio, he created several works for him beginning in 1917.
From 1922 to 1931, he directed the Murano Glass Museum. He later worked for the firm of Andrea Rioda and, together with Paolo Venini and Francesco Zecchin, founded “Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Venini & C.,” serving as its artistic director.
After an initial period in which he carried on the artistic concepts of his predecessor, Vittorio Zecchin, creating beautiful pieces of blown glass, he went on to develop his own style, drawing on his experience as a sculptor.
In 1932, he left Venini and founded “Zecchin-Martinuzzi Vetri Artistici e Mosaici” with Francesco Zecchin, for whom he created refined, opachi, and pulegos glass pieces of remarkable sculptural effect.
