PVD—short for Physical Vapor Deposition—gives objects exquisite colors and shades, and is achieved by depositing metal particles through vaporization in a vacuum chamber. The coating bonds at the atomic level to the stainless steel substrate, making the material harder and more resistant to both abrasion and corrosion, thereby preventing the formation of rust or oxides. Thanks to the use of non-toxic materials such as titanium and zirconium, PVD is also used in the biomedical field for items such as scalpels and surgical blades.
The one-piece knife is made as a single piece of steel. Unlike the hollow-handled knife, which is composed of two parts, here there is no noticeable gap between the handle and blade, and when holding these types of knives, there is a pleasant feeling of heaviness and solidity.
