Medium “Fazzoletto” Vase, 24 cm – 700.02 – Apple Green – Venini

Green/Apple Fazzoletto Vase – Venini (Design: Fulvio Bianconi and Paolo Venini)

A timeless icon of international design and Murano glass art.

Created in 1948 by the genius of Fulvio Bianconi and Paolo Venini, the Fazzoletto is one of the most famous, imitated, and admired works in the history of art glass. Featured in museums around the world, including MoMA in New York, this vase represents the perfect balance between masterful craftsmanship and formal intuition.

The magic of the Fazzoletto lies in its manufacturing technique, the “flying hand” method: the master glassblower, with a fluid gesture and a swift movement guided by centrifugal force, shapes the molten glass, creating soft, sinuous, and seemingly random folds that mimic the lightness of an upside-down cloth handkerchief. Each individual piece, by its very nature, is unique and one-of-a-kind: no two Fazzoletto vases in the world will ever be identical.

This particular version combines the warm, enveloping eleganceof amber with the charm of Lattimo, an opaque white glass invented in Murano in the 15th century to imitate Chinese porcelain. The layering of the two surfaces (the “incamiciato” technique) creates an extraordinary chromatic depth, where the golden luster of the outer Ambra is enhanced and brought to life by the pure, milky-white core within.

An iconic piece of furniture that lends unparalleled prestige to a console table, a classic living room, or a contemporary space. A true collector’s item and a gift idea of inestimable value.
