Care And Use: GLASS. “At the Moulin de la Galette in Paris, they offered me some delicious, fresh, sparkling cider. I feel I’ll never forget this moment—or the glass from which I’m drinking, filled with countless irresistible little bubbles.”

The Memento brand embodies many meanings. It represents a company that conducts thorough color research to offer unique shades and color combinations.

It guarantees that the products are handcrafted: that’s why no two are ever exactly alike. It signifies a production process attended to down to the smallest detail: the glass paste coloring, the air bubble inside the glass that must remain small and spherical, and many other details that make Memento a collection of inimitable products.

Memento provides a warranty for an original product with unique characteristics: HANDCRAFTED Memento products are crafted by hand and blown by skilled artisans COLORED WITH GLASS PASTILLE Each piece is colored at the source using glass pastille, providing a warranty that the original color intensity is preserved UNMISTAKABLE BUBBLES

The distinctive feature of Memento is its Bollicine, created by a special wheel-turning process and present in large quantities inside the glass. RECYCLABLE

Memento Originale products are made from recyclable glass, thereby encouraging recycling and environmental stewardship. Dishwasher Safe

Memento products are dishwasher safe. Memento Originale products are the result of an artisanal manufacturing and glassblowing process, ensuring a range of unique characteristics, starting with the physical properties of the glass itself and its distinctive bubbles. The handcrafted nature of Memento products means that each individual glass may vary in color tone and intensity, base shape, parison shape, stem shape, bubble density, base thickness, body thickness, height, width, and the smoothness of the inner and outer surfaces.

These imperfections are what make Memento a unique product; in fact, no two pieces will ever be exactly alike. Memento is the brand that has radically transformed the concept and role of glassware, evolving it into a true medium of expression and personal identity, with an exclusive and inimitable color palette.

It was Memento that first introduced the idea of a multicolored set of glasses 15 years ago—a concept that was revolutionary at the time and has since become commonplace. It is a concept that continues to make Memento synonymous with—and a symbol of—an innovative approach to the world of “home design” through research and creative thinking.

Memento products are the result of a traditional handcrafted blowing process, which provides a range of unique characteristics, starting with the texture of the glass itself and its distinctive bubbles. One example is the special glass-paste coloring applied during the initial production process, which ensures the products are dishwasher-safe and that the original color intensity is preserved.

Ongoing research in the field of glass coloring has led to the creation of an exclusive, inimitable, and highly personal palette.

Additional specifications from the company:

Memento glass products are, in fact, handcrafted from colored glass paste using traditional glassblowing techniques. The color is not applied to the surface; it is not a paint job and is not an external coating, but rather an integral part of the glass’s body. For this reason, variations in color intensity—especially near the base and on the lower part of the glass—are due to the natural distribution of the glass paste during the manufacturing process. Several factors play a role: the thickness of the glass, the concentration of microbubbles, the density of the material, the shape it takes during the blowing process, and even the way light passes through the glass.

Another distinctive feature of this craft involves the use of soda in the glass batch and in the creation of the microbubble effect. During the artisanal manufacturing process, the presence and distribution of the Bollicine are never perfectly uniform: in the initial stage of production, the effect may be more intense and concentrated, while in the final part of the glass mass it may be less pronounced or distributed differently. This variation occurs within the glass mass itself and contributes to the subtle shades and optical effects visible on the glass.

In certain colors—particularly warmer ones, such as Red, for example—these variations may be more noticeable due to the color’s bright and partially translucent nature.

In lighter-colored or outwardly whiter glasses, the different shade does not indicate a lack of color, but rather a different concentration of the liquid and Bollicine inside the glass.
